Star Citizen Roadmap Update June 12th, 2020

Star Citizen Alpha 3.10.0 is just around the corner.. so close that it went out to Evocati for testing yesterday. We saw a 7% jump from last week and are now sitting at 90% complete with the lowest percentage item being the Bartender NPC improvements and the Impoundment Improvements for the Law System v2.

Last week brought us three exciting additions to 3.10.0… this week, however, we saw two removals from 3.10.0:

  • Mission Giver: Eddie Parr – From the June 12th, 2020 Roadmap Roundup: Although we will release the bartender functionality with Alpha 3.10, Eddie Parr requires additional functionality as a mission giver and certain higher priority tasks need to be completed before the team can begin addressing those relevant to Eddie Parr. At the same time, we’ll be reviewing mission givers overall and planning out what steps we can take to improve them. Because of this, we’ve removed Eddie Parr from the roadmap for the time being until we are able to determine where he will fall.
  • Elevator Panel UpdatesDelayed to 3.11.0 (Q3 2020). From the June 12th, 2020 Roadmap Roundup: The feature’s scope has increased in complexity since we initially planned this as an Alpha 3.10 goal and we will need more time to make the necessary UI code changes. We’ve moved this card to the Alpha 3.11 column.

Luckily, the NPC Bartender feature remains as it has a history of being pulled or delayed last minute over the past 5 years.

3.10.0 doesn’t see any completions this week but based on the leaked Evocati patch notes, it appears much of the finalization for the items which aren’t at 100% are pending confirmation by Evocati.

Additionally, the Kruger Intergalactic P-72 Archimedes Emerald has been confirmed to be a skin for the base P-72 and not a separate ship.

On top of the removals from 3.10.0 we also saw one item removed from 3.11.0 this week… the highly anticipated Docking item. I’m not sure about you, but this definitely saddens me.

Certain scheduled work took more time than expected on tasks associated with this card, and additional work was identified by the team during the initial Q3 planning which has pushed Docking past the cutoff date for Alpha 3.11. Until we can solidify Docking’s place in a future update, we’ve removed this card from the Roadmap.

Even with the removals, the leaked Evocati patch notes really flesh out what we were merely speculating on what some of these items are about. I’d highly suggest checking them out for more details, especially for the Turret and Gunnery Improvements, Thruster Efficiency Curves and Aerodynamics, and Quality-of-Life changes for several ships.
